Shakespeare Distillery Host and Tour Guide

Having been awarded Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for the past 5 years running we are busier than ever with our distillery experiences, which typically run from Wednesday to Sunday each week. Our experiences comprise of Distillery Tour & Tastings, Gin and Rum Schools (where you get to develop a recipe, distil and bottle it, all whilst having a few drinks and laughs along the way), Tastings, Cocktail Masterclasses and Gin & Rum Tasting River Cruises.
We now have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Distillery Host and Tour Guide to support the delivery of these experiences; hours from 8 to 15 hours per week (must be available to work weekends). As the first point of contact on many occasions, it is important that you are warm, friendly, and confident with a positive outlook and a great ambassador for the distillery.
- Deliver an informative, fun and engaging distillery experience for all guests
- Review bookings for the day and produce the daily guest check in sheet
- Prepare the experience space for each event, ensure it is clean, laid out correctly with correct amount of glassware, equipment and garnish in place
- Greet and check guests in
- Gain sufficient knowledge to be able to talk confidently and knowledgably about Shakespeare Distillery and the wider craft spirits category to guests
- Ensure the distillery shop is adequately stocked throughout the day
- Liaise with the distillery team to understand what production activities are underway each day to be able to accurately explain this to guests attending an experience
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests
- Support other team members by helping in the shop/café/phones as and when the need arises to maintain a high standard of visitor experience
- Support other one-off activities as required

- You will have, or be able to acquire quickly, a strong knowledge base of the craft spirit’s sector
- You will have, or be able to acquire quickly, the ability to create and serve cocktails
- You will have great time management skills, ensuring experiences run to time
- You should be organised with an ability to work unsupervised
- You should be proficient in the use of MS Office software, including Word and Excel
- You should strive to work efficiently, looking for opportunities to improve working practice
- You should be able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
Established in 2015 in Stratford upon Avon, Shakespeare Distillery is an artisan spirit producer, we are passionate about creating high quality spirits and sharing this passion through our visitor experiences.
We have won a number of awards at the West Midlands Tourism Awards, Stratford Herald Business & Tourism Awards and have received the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for the past five years running. These awards, together with receiving many hundreds of positive reviews on sites such as Tripadvisor, Facebook and Google attesting to the quality of the experiences.
